Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Four (4) years of experience in financial aid, admissions, advising, or other enrollment services functions. Experience with personal computers using Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook) software.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization. Experience processing financial aid and athletic grant-in-aid for student-athletes. Experience with BANNER Student Information System and the NCAA Compliance Assistant software.

Anticipated Start Date 10/06/2014

General Summary Statement: This position's initial duties will include assisting with the athletic grant-in-aid, federal, state, and institutional scholarships awarded to student-athletes; meeting with students and their families to advise of financial aid funding options and the financial aid process; as well as other duties as outlined in your official Position Description.

Other Licenses & Certifications: Agrees to comply with all University, Atlantic Sun Conference, or Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) regulations, as applicable, as well as all NCAA rules and regulations. Remains current with all changes in NCAA, as well as changes to University, Atlantic Sun Conference and CCSA rules and regulations regarding intercollegiate athletics. This includes the requirement for self-reporting any possible rule violations. Any violation of NCAA rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

Provides support to the Director and Associate Director of Financial Aid in managing financial aid process workflow related to the awarding of financial aid for student athletes. Evaluates, awards, monitors, and reports athletic grant-in-aid, federal, state, and institutional aid awarded to student-athletes

Maintains and updates athletic financial aid procedures. Works with the Director of Athletic Compliance to ensure all awards are processed timely and in accordance with NCAA rules and regulations. Participates in developing the ongoing direction of athletic financial assistance programs and processes, including liaison with the FGCU Athletic Department.

Updates and maintains student-athlete awards in the Compliance Assistant software. Assists with on-campus training sessions for Athletics and/or other departments. Meets with students and families to advise of financial aid funding options and financial aid process (i.e. student budget, money management, adjustments of financial aid awards, and completion of aid forms). Troubleshoots problems or questions related to athletic aid and student account charges and payments.

Assists with the review of federal, state, and institutional financial aid reports. Reviews and updates student aid packages in accordance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. Assists with projects and tasks as needed.

Assists with general functions of financial aid and with all other Financial Aid programs. Serves as back up to all other financial aid areas & programs.
