Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.
Preferences: Prefer a financial aid professional with strong oral and written communication, organization, and presentation skills.
Knowledge and work experience in an automated financial aid environment is essential.
PeopleSoft experience is preferred.
Position Description: This position is responsible for the creation and implementation of a thorough ongoing training program which would meet the needs of new and experienced financial aid and non-financial aid professionals. The training would include both functional and systems information.
Job Description: This position reports to the Assistant Director and is responsible for the creation and implementation of a comprehensive training program for new and experienced financial aid professionals in both functional and systems information (PeopleSoft Trainer). The training program coordinator helps to ensure that staff are properly informed of these systems, functions, and programs.Map out training plans, design and develop training programs (outsourced or in-house)
Determines needs and learning styles of audience, develops curriculum, prepares training manuals and materials, creates publications, and schedules training classes.
Choose appropriate training methods per subject matter (simulations, mentoring, on the job training, professional development classes, etc.)
Develop brief recorded and scripted videos, online classes, materials and assessments as applicable
Maintains a database to document training received by staff and provides Human Resources with training records.
Monitors and evaluates training data as appropriate.
Conduct needs assessments and identifies skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
Assess instructional effectiveness and summarize evaluation reports determining the impact of training on employee skills.
Use accepted education principles and track new training methods and techniques.
Assists in presentation of financial aid information to groups of students, parents, high school counselors, and/or the general public in workshop and training sessions.
Attends professional workshops, meetings, and training sessions to assure adequate professional development and keep abreast of current rules and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
This is a full time position.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm and occasional evenings and weekends.
