Hodges University is currently seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Financial Aid & Veteran Services to support the Office of Student Financial Services. This position will serve as an integral part of the SFS leadership team with close adherence to and compliance with federal financial aid policies and procedures and applicable federal and state laws.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervision of the financial aid and veteran services support staff; management of all federal and state aid programs; oversight of all review and processing of financial aid applications; and maintenance of verification and professional judgement requests.

To be successful in this position, the assistant director will have knowledge and understanding of federal and state regulations and the ability to interpret and administer student federal aid; a thorough understanding of need analysis, student budgets, and federal, state and private aid management; exceptional organizational skills, analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a deadline- driven environment; strong analytical and computer skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet critical deadlines; ability to work as a team member; confidence to work independently, lead a team and supervise employees and; will be expected to exercise discretion and independent judgement in carrying out job responsibilities.

Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree is required as well as five or more years of progressive experience in college financial aid and two or more years of progressive experience in veteran services; demonstrated familiarity with computer applications; willingness and desire to work in a setting requiring prioritization of tasks to complete multiple projects with critical deadlines and; a willingness and desire to work with technology and computer applications.

Preference will be given to applicants with a master’s degree; supervisory experience; familiarity with State of Florida financial aid programs; demonstrated professional experience working with Ellucian Colleague, other student information systems, document management systems and/or reporting software.
