Description: The Financial Aid Coordinator III position is in the Office for Student Financial Affairs (SFA) which is part of the Division of Enrollment Management. This position is responsible for the supervision of five full-time advising staff members. The financial aid advising area is the main point of contact for all financial aid program information for current and prospective students at the University of Florida (UF) and is responsible for the overall coordination of the aid process for all undergraduate and select populations of graduate students. The incumbent in this position must possess a good working knowledge of regulations and policies governing federal, state, and institutional aid programs and processes in addition to having excellent communication, customer service, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsible for day to day supervision and oversight of the Financial Aid Advising area. Oversees services provided to prospective and current students and parents, pertaining to all aspects of the financial aid process. Responsible for the direct supervision, training, scheduling, and evaluation of five full-time professional advising staff. Also responsible for scheduling, training and monitoring other staff working at the front desk in the lobby and phones.

Works extensively with clients in person, by telephone, and the Gator 360 customer relationship management (CRM) to respond to inquiries regarding financial aid programs. Monitors and ensures frontline staff provide the best customer service to families, students, and other clients in person, by phone, or through Gator 360. Works with the Assistant Director to coordinate scheduling of Preview, outreach, literacy, other special programs, and presentations. Personally presents financial aid information at preview and other programs.

Responsible for making award decisions encompassing the syntheses of student and parent demographic and financial data and correlating that information with awarding policies, procedures, and eligibility requirements that pertain to all federal, state, and institutional student aid programs. This requires that the responsible individual possess a thorough working knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations governing the awarding and disbursement of financial aid, and for analyzing applications and related data sent to Student Financial Affairs from prospective and current students.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Occasional travel in relation to financial aid presentations, professional development, workshops, etc.

Salary: $42,000.00

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree; or an associate's degree and two years of relevant experience.
