GENERAL SUMMARY: The first point of contact with students and parents regarding financial aid matters; answer questions, inquiries or requests from students, parents and others in person, by phone, email or in writing; Counsel students on applying for aid, the appeal process and financial aid in general; Performs data entry and reviews student files for completeness and determines if a financial aid application file is complete and if not, requests missing information on a regular basis until it is complete; Prepares and sends information notices and Award Letters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Interview and counsel new and prospective students regarding the financial aid process.
•Working through PowerFAids selection sets and daily workflow and outreaches to students; includes follow-up with new, continuing, and prospective students in resolving student financial aid loan processes.
•Administration of student financial aid by ensuring that student loan packaging is within COA and other regulatory guidelines for loan eligibility.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Supports Financial Aid Manager and Director with time-sensitive projects as assigned.
•Escalates complex student files for review and assistance to ensure a seamless student first experience in resolving any extraordinary circumstances.

Bachelor’s degree preferred and one year of appropriate financial aid experience; or a high school diploma and five years of appropriate experience. Knowledge of Title IV Regulations, Department of Education websites (NSLDS, COD), Financial Aid software systems, GI Bill for Higher Education and state regulations related to financial aid.

TRAVEL:
Position may require local driving and/or overnight travel to other campuses.
