Serves as a member of the management team with responsibility for the oversight and supervision of staff in the areas of Federal and Private Loans, Scholarships, Federal and State Work-Study Programs, Campus-Based programs, and Special Programs.
This position/classification may be moved at management’s discretion within the SDES division to a commensurate level position as determined by the Vice President of Student Development and Enrollment Services or his/her designee.
Responsible for monitoring distribution and disbursement of aid and coordinating and monitoring student program budgets following Federal aid funding and distribution process guidelines.
Serves as the Primary Destination Point Administrator for the UCF Office of Student Financial Assistance.
Responsible for monitoring the scholarship application cycle, updates/changes to scholarships MOU's, and reporting to the foundation.
Assists in supporting all areas, providing assistance in systems analysis and oversight in areas of management and coordination with COD and the National Student Loan Data System.
Serves as co-chair to the UCF Scholarship Committee.
Serves as a member of the Student Cares Committee. This committee reviews applications for homeless waiver and Foundation emergency funds.
Advises on availability and sources of financial assistance including Pell Grant, Campus-based aid, Stafford loan, scholarships, and other programs.
Ensures that proper cash management rules and procedures are followed for the areas of responsibility
Interprets to students the policies, the processes, and the regulations pertaining to financial aid and all aid programs.
Collaborates with faculty, staff, and administrators to develop strategies and initiatives designed to enhance student's educational experience, improve persistence, retention, and graduation rates.
Maintains a thorough working knowledge of University, Federal, and State regulations and policies pertaining to student assistance programs to be able to analyze and react as needed to update policy changes.
Advises and counsels students and parents regarding the financial aid process.
Analyzes and evaluates students' financial needs.
Contact for Undergraduate Admissions and Registrar Office for Conditional Admits and Early Admits.
Serves as a contact for various User Edit Messages that prevents aid from disbursing (Early Admit, Dismissed students, and Pending ITG)
Provides second tier backup for Disbursement Processing
Contact for Undergraduate Admissions and Registrar Office for Conditional Admits and Early Admits.
Attends workshops, meetings, and training sessions to assure professional development and keep abreast of current rules and regulations.
Some evening and weekend hours may be required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's and 6+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience with at least 2+ year(s) of leadership experience.
Preferences: The successful candidate will have recent financial aid experience in a high-volume environment, strong management, problem-solving, and customer service skills. This person will have thorough knowledge of Federal Student Loan and Private Loan programs, Federal Work Study programs, private scholarship programs and processes, and knowledge of federal, state, and institutional compliance, rules, and regulations regarding the administration of student financial aid. PeopleSoft experience is also preferred.
Annual Salary: $75,809 – Negotiable
Posting dates: May 7, 2021 eastern daylight time – May 20, 2021 eastern daylight time
Hours: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, some evenings and weekends may be required.
