Seeking an Associate Director to manage office compliance and training, as well as oversee office operations and processing. Internally supervises and motivates a team while externally facilitating exemplary service to Santa Fe College student and families. This position requires the ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend availability.

Responsibilities and Duties (partial):
  • Provide leadership and direction for the Financial Aid office, especially in the absence of the Financial Aid Director.
  • Assist in the development of institutional policies and procedures based on federal regulations, guidelines, and professional literature.
  • Keep up to date and abreast of changes to pertinent legislation and regulations concerning Financial Aid.
  • Act as a resource for clarification and information.
  • Oversee all operations and processing to ensure proper disbursements of federal, state and agency funds to a diverse community of students.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Financial Aid to develop, implement and maintain internal controls and procedures across campus to minimize exposure to risks.
  • Establish institutional policies and procedures, such as those related to Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), Professional Judgement and Dependency Override processes.
  • Provide support for all internal and external federal and state audits.
  • Track data to prepare and compile reports.
  • Provide action plans, resources, training and for the performance and professional development of the financial aid team.
  • Oversee the return of Title IV calculations, grant recalculations and ineligible disbursements to resolve the over awards and over payments.

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field with at least three (3) years of closely related work experience in Financial Aid, Higher Education, Business, Finance- related fields or another related area. At least three (3) years of direct supervisory, office management or project management is also required.
