JOB DESCRIPTION

QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
(2) Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in education
(3) Financial Aid experience preferred
(4) Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of current public laws in financial aid and VA loans. Working knowledge of e-mail and the internet. Knowledge of government rules, regulations, guidelines and procedures related to financial aid. Knowledge of computer applications. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to learn a wide variety of software programs, such as database information systems, work processing, and spreadsheet applications. Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Skills in entering data accurately, in making simple calculations and in analytical reasoning and high energy to perform and complete tasks.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service Delivery

*(1) Assists students in processing financial aid applications.
*(2) Processes incoming and outgoing financial aid transcripts.
*(3) Coordinates tuition deferments with business office.
*(4) Calculates awards for awards letters.
*(5) Maintains student grade reports and student attendance files as well as probations and terminations.
*(6) Conducts Quinmester reporting to Bright Futures and third party vendors.
*(7) Processes VA qualifying of Institute documents and programs.
*(8) Assists students in processing VA applications.
*(9) Develops and updates database for financial aid.

*(10) Composes letters, memos, reports, etc.
*(11) Answers and returns telephone inquiries.
*(12) Prepares reports and participates in audits.
*(13) Updates and troubleshoots DOE software.
*(14) Coordinates and acts as a liaison with other third-party vendors.
*(15) Coordinates Pell, Bright Futures, Florida Pre-Paid College disbursements as well as miscellaneous scholarships.
*(16) Assists with enrollment certifications and the return of Title IV funds.
*(17) Collects and/or reviews financial aid applications to determine completeness and eligibility for financial aid and requests additional information for incomplete or inconsistent applications to perform needs analysis.
*(18) Verifies accuracy of documents and consistency of data from need analysis processor, federal tax returns, financial aid transcripts verification document, and student information.

*Essential Performance Responsibilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the district. This position may be required to work beyond a 40-hour work week on an as-needed basis. Classification: Administrative, Managerial, Confidential

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
