Responsible for the coordination and development of a comprehensive employee training and professional development program for the Office of Student Financial Assistance. Supervises Training Coordinator and serves as a member of the management team. Research and evaluate federal and state regulations to ensure compliance with regulations. This position/classification may be moved at management’s discretion within the SDES division to a commensurate level position as determined by the Vice President of Student Development and Enrollment Services or his/her designee.
Assumes the responsibility for research and special projects for the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
Responsible for the oversight of the Transient Enrollment process, FLVC/Florida Shines program, and Study Abroad/Exchange programs.
Responsible for monitoring of the Repeated Courses process and developing the annual students' Cost of Attendance for the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
Advises and counsels students and parents regarding the financial aid process. Analyzes and evaluates students' financial needs. Advises on availability and sources of financial assistance including Pell Grant, campus-based aid, Stafford Loans, scholarships, and other programs. Interprets to students the policies, the processes, and the regulations pertaining to financial aid and all aid programs. Counseling occurs through personal interviews, by telephone, and e-mail communications.
Develops and coordinates ongoing training of all staff; prepares and updates training materials. Resolves and respond to training issues and questions. Recommend solutions for performance issues and potential areas of training.
Assists in the development and update of consumer information.
Attends professional workshops, meetings, and training sessions to assure adequate professional development and keep abreast of current rules and regulations.
Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience with at least 1+ years of leadership experience.
Preferences: Excellent organizational and program management skills. Strong computer skills, including Excel, relational-database expertise and PeopleSoft experience. Recent Financial Aid experience working in a Financial Aid office. Previous supervisory experience is a plus. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, able to multitask, and can easily adapt to various situations.
Expected Salary: $56,030.00- negotiable
Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Occasional evenings and weekends are required.
