To help institutions improve student services, College Aid Services provides consulting services to colleges, universities, and proprietary institutions throughout the country. With over 20 years of working in the higher education industry, our higher education consultants have spent decades in the field working in all aspects of financial aid and higher education assessment and administration.

As we continue to grow, College Aid Services is seeking Independent Higher Education Consultants to provide consulting services. Our consultants primarily provide both on-site and/or remote assistance for admissions, enrollment management, financial aid, student account, and registrar functions. We can support many facets of student services to impact customer service. We also recognize the value of providing project management, assessments, and analysis of business processes that take into consideration utilizing technology to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policy and regulations. Our consultant roles may be on-site, remote or hybrid and include interim staffing at all levels.

Amid the current climate, our immediate need is for Financial Aid Consultants who are available for full-time hours. Financial Aid Consultant

Required Job Skills
  • Knowledge of the Title IV aid programs
  • Ability to manage the Title IV aid programs to include analysis and/or creation of policy and procedures manual that adhere to regulatory requirements
  • Experience with all aspects of financial aid application and processing including, but limited to, review and determining eligibility, award processing, federal verification, federal loan processing, Pell Grant processing, and alternative loan processing.
  • Experience with managing a state aid program
  • Progressive experience in financial aid operations
  • Ability to plan, prepare and deliver financial aid workshops to students, families, and community
  • Supervisory experience
  • Ability to lead financial aid group or individual training sessions
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Skilled user of Microsoft Products – Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience using Student Information Systems – Anthology, Banner, Colleague, PeopleSoft, PowerFAIDS, etc.
  • Experience using Federal Software Systems – COD, NSLDS, FAA Access, EdConnect, EdExpress, etc.
  • Ability to create documentation of all completed work
  • Effective time management skills
  • Education requirements vary by assignment, but the minimum is usually a Bachelor’s degree plus years of financial aid experience
