Financial Aid Coordinator

POSITION START DATE: July 01, 2024
SUMMARY: Coordinate OCOM’s Office of Financial Aid programs and activities and ensure that assigned financial aid functions fulfill institutional goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides administrative support to the day-to-day operations of the OCOM Office of Financial Aid and the Office of Student Services
Support the OCOM-approved financial aid policies and ensure that they are adhered to throughout the financial aid process
Creates, sends, and responds to correspondence relating to financial aid
Maintains the Office of Financial Aid calendars, screens calls, greets visitors, and answers questions regarding office policies, procedures, and services for visitors and enrolled students
Creates and designs PowerPoint presentations, infographics, flyers, and other reports
Counsels students on financial aid processing, awarding, scholarships, and debt management
Tracks participation, reports, and prepares student materials for the Debt Management Program and other presentations
Assists in preparing and compiling reports for the scholarship committee procedure, meetings, and the OCOM Scholarship Donor Stewardship program
Conducts presentations for current and prospective students
Monitors, analyzes, and reports medical student payments, balances due, and student refund statuses
Ensures confidentiality of student records in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Collaborate in supporting the Title IV application for the OCOM
Assisted the Director of Financial Aid in accreditation functions, including document creation, data collection, and data entry
Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Previous experience in financial aid is preferred.
A team player who values cooperation, mutual support, and team cohesion.
Proficient in Google Suite, Apple products or related software.
Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide proof of eligibility.
Must be local to the Central Florida area.
