Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma and four (4) years of financial aid or related
experience; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an
appropriate area of specialization. Appropriate college coursework or
vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the
required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Windows database, Excel, Access, Word, and computer
applications, especially Banner; working in a financial aid office at the
university level; and working with the public.

General Summary Statement:
This position's initial duties will include assisting in the overall planning,
developing, and administering of a comprehensive financial aid program
for undergraduate and graduate students; awarding, processing, and
verifying financial aid funds as appropriate for all applicable financial aid programs; as well as other duties as outlined in your official Position

Assists in the overall planning, developing, and administrating of a comprehensive financial aid program for undergraduate and graduate students. Awards, processes, and verifies funds as appropriate for all applicable financial aid programs. Completes student verification
files in accordance to institutional and federal student aid guidelines.
Navigates Banner, packages awards, and verifies funds. Processes applications and corrections through federal software. Creates and submits loans through Department of Education (DOE) software applications. Assists with the calculation and refunds of Title IV
programs. Assists with the yearly review and processing of the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) process as required by Federal regulations. Troubleshoots loans during origination and disbursement processes.
Reviews and tracks application documents to determine eligibility for financial assistance from various state, federal, and institutional programs. Makes and disburses awards accordingly.
Counsels students and parents as to availability of various forms of aid. Assists with conducting entrance and exit interviews with student borrowers, advising students as to their specific rights and responsibilities under the Federal loan programs.

Provides assistance to all student walk-ins at the front desk. Assists with responding to all e-mail and voice-mail inquiries received in the general inbox from students and parents.

Interacts daily with the Office of Registration and Records, Bookstore, Admissions, and Cashier's Office. Establishes and maintains internal business contact with other academic and administrative departments. Assists with all other Financial Aid programs. Serves as back up
to all other financial aid areas & programs.

Marginal 10%- Required to work the Financial Aid front desk as necessary. Other duties as assigned.

Additional Posting Details
Working Hours:
a) Daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday
b) Total hours per week, 40.
c) Hours and days may vary according to departmental need in peak
periods, which may include a couple of weekends during the academic
year.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Department of Education rules and regulations. Knowledge
of community college and high school curriculum requirements. Ability to
research and resolve student financial aid issues; plan, organize, and
coordinate work assignments; and work independent of direct supervision.
Ability to and establish and maintain effective working relationships with
staff members and the campus community. Excellent verbal and written
communication skills.

confidential information such as student records, grievance issues, and
personnel matters.

Eligibility determination will be made by the Florida Gulf Coast University
