FASFAA Family,

The Conference Committee and Executive Board are thrilled to announce we will be “Back Together Again” after two years of virtual events!  Special thanks to the Conference Committee, Executive Board, and volunteers for all your assistance in planning and operating this year’s conference.

We are happy to provide you with a comprehensive and exciting program of training topics to help you learn and understand all the nuances in financial aid. It is also my hope that you will take this opportunity to network, meet new people, and challenge yourself to think critically about the policies and procedures in your office.  There will be plenty of time outside the classroom to explore beautiful grounds of the Sawgrass Marriot and surrounding communities.  The Conference Committee has nightly entertainment planned to keep us busy dancing, singing, and enjoying our time together!

The charity for 2021-2022 is Youth Crisis Center (YCC) of Jacksonville. FASFAA’s goal is to raise $3,500 to support the charity. YCC of Jacksonville provides short term crisis care, mental health counseling, skills-based group training, and transitional living services program for children, teens, young adults, and their families. Providing more than a safety net for those in need, YCC transforms lives to hundreds of youth and their families every year. YCC is non-profit servicing Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns counties.

Donations can be made here.

We also need your support for the Bonnie Pirkle Memorial Scholarship fund. These funds are used to provide scholarships to students throughout the state. The elected officers of the executive board are each provided an award allocation to use for students at their respective institutions. Last year, with your help, FASFAA was able to provide over $10,000 in scholarships to students in need!

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank our Business Partners for their support and partnership for the conference. Without your support, the conference wouldn’t be possible!

Cheers to being back together for 2022!

Katie Conrad

FASFAA President 2021-2022
