FASFAA PRESIDENT'S WELCOME MESSAGE

Hello FASFAA Family,

On behalf of the 2024 Conference Committee and Executive Board, I welcome you to our FASFAA 2024 Annual Conference website. We are excited to be in Port Charlotte and the brand-new Sunseeker Resort Hotel! Look and see what you have to look forward to when you’re not in sessions! A special thank you to the 2022-23 Executive Board for securing this great location.

The committee has been hard at work putting together a valuable conference program for you to experience since ‘It’s a Whole New World’ in financial aid. Please make sure you meet some new people and exchange contact information. As we work through perhaps the most challenging time in the profession, remember to lean on and help each other. Together, we can make wishes come true!

Our community service charity this year is The Homeless Coalition of Charlotte County.  The Homeless Coalition provides emergency services such as shelter and food to hundreds of people annually and works with families to secure more financially stable futures. Our goal is to assist the organization by raising $2,500. In addition, we are also asking for each attendee to bring canned goods items to the conference so we can support the Homeless Coalition’s food pantry. The food donation will also function as our region competition, with bragging rights going to the region that collects the most food for the organization.

We also look forward to the pre-conference events. The events will include a Director’s Summit for senior financial aid administrators and a session offering the opportunity to earn a NASFAA credential, and our 2023-24 LEAP cohort recapping their year of service in the program. After all of the business has been concluded, the fun and festivities will begin with our evening activities. You don’t want to miss it!
