IT Business Analyst Senior - position 45155

Preferences: Prefer experience with the Financial Aid module of PeopleSoft and recent financial aid experience.
Job Description: Under the direction of the IT Business Analyst Senior – LEAD, this position is responsible for developing computer applications and programs to ensure compliance and quality control in the processing and awarding of financial aid, and the required reporting to federal, state, and other agencies. This position is responsible for scheduling and maintaining daily PeopleSoft job stream, including inbound and outbound file exchanges.
This position/classification may be moved at management’s discretion within theSDES division to a commensurate level position as determined by the Vice President of Student Development and Enrollment Services or his/her designee.
Schedules and maintains daily PeopleSoft job stream for the Office of Student Financial Assistance (SFA). Responsible for monitoring SFA processes for quality output and success on a daily basis. Troubleshoots problems encountered with custom and delivered PeopleSoft processes and submits appropriate modification requests to seek resolution.
Responsible for monitoring quality, success, and timeliness of inbound and outbound file exchanges with external partners such as the U.S. Department of Education (COD, CPS, NSLDS) and the state of Florida.
Develops, submits, tests, and approves modification requests for PeopleSoft upgrades/patches, new custom development, and changes to current processes to support regulatory changes, process updates, and data integrity.
Researches business needs and develops functional and system design specifications to monitor and ensure compliance with regulations and program guidelines. Notifies users of any limitations that may impact processing or reporting of data. Responds to changes in financial aid regulations or policy to assure compatibility of computer programs with new requirements.
Provides support for packaging financial aid awards and disbursement of aid to students.
Keeps abreast of regulatory changes for financial aid as well as technical updates to PeopleSoft. Integrates technical use of PeopleSoft with the functional understanding of financial aid.
Designs and runs queries to ensure compliance of financial aid policies. Seeks innovative methods of extracting information from the computer system to uncover potential problems in compliance and anticipates and circumvents future problems.
Integrates the Financial Aid Module with other PeopleSoft Modules and offices, including Admissions, Graduate Studies, Registrar, Human Resources, Institutional Knowledge Management, Student Financials and Computer Services through collaboration and coordination.
Develops procedures and assists in writing computer programs to monitor and ensure compliance with regulations and program guidelines.
Researches and develops innovative solutions (delivered and custom) for existing challenges with processing aid in PeopleSoft.
Ensures the continued proper setup of the system to support changing institutional needs.
Assists in testing of system upgrades and patches.
Reviews code to troubleshoot problems in custom processes.
Attends workshops, meetings, and training sessions to ensure adequate professional development and to keep abreast of current rules and regulations.
Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Location: UCF Main Campus Orlando, Florida
Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Occasional evenings and weekends required.
