The Coordinator holds primary responsibility and decision-making for bringing in ISIRS, checking to ensure that we have the correct ISIR for the prospective or enrolled student, and locks the record if it is correct.
The Coordinator has primary responsibility for clearing FAFSA records from suspense, resolving all discrepancies, and obtaining proper documentation.
The Coordinator holds primary responsibility for awarding institutional scholarships to admitted FTIC students, transfer students, and international students (including estimates of Bright Futures scholarship awards), and ensures match of scholarship assignments to award letters. The Coordinator also updates/maintains information in the recruitment database regarding FTIC, transfer and international applicants and their institutional scholarship assignments.
The Coordinator generates, prepares and sends Financial Aid communication flow (email and printed mail). This includes using population selections in Banner, and merging, printing, matching, and collating printed mailings (as well as stuffing, with student help when available). Regular letters and messages include batch right to cancel letters for loan borrowers, Satisfactory Academic Progress reminders and notices, delinquent loan letters, tracking letters, and Financial Aid Award statements.
The Coordinator logs student and parent documents for the financial aid verification process.
The Coordinator will have primary responsibility for processing all financial aid mail and for proper disposition. This will include properly logging all Alternative loan checks, all National Merit checks, and all outside scholarship checks and ensuring their safekeeping until brought to the Business Office.
The Coordinator is the primary source for collection of Citizenship documents to resolve federal aid eligibility issues. The Coordinator will also serve as primary source for collection of National Merit finalist documents to determine eligibility for the Florida Incentive Scholarship.
The Coordinator has primary responsibility for reconciling bi-monthly Work Study accounts, and for monitoring departmental allocations.
The Coordinator collaborates with other members of the team to maintain file records in compliance with state and federal records retention requirements. This includes daily and scheduled maintenance and monitoring of in-office files, separation of loan files, and organization of off- site files.
The Coordinator assists with state of Florida reporting as needed with sorting of spreadsheets and other clerical functions.
The Coordinator serves as 1st responder for the Financial Aid voicemail system and the Financial Aid email mailbox, monitoring and responding to messages from students, faculty and representatives of New College and of other institutions.
The Coordinator initiates and maintains student records in the Slate and Banner systems.
The Coordinator serves as receptionist for Robertson Hall, and so must be physically present 8-5:00 (not including a scheduled lunch hour). As receptionist, the Coordinator directs the flow of students to Financial Aid and/or Admissions staff, is responsible for first pick-up on the Financial Aid line, and processes correspondence. As the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid's first point of contact with students and their families, the Coordinator must communicate effectively and in a cordial and professional manner.
The Coordinator assists with outreach to target populations (e.g. Pell-eligible prospective and current students).
The Coordinator prepares Award Comparisons and Payment Worksheets for prospective students and parents.
