Job Description:
Counsel students, families and prospects regarding aid availability, how funds are administered, the financial aid application process, programs available and problem resolution.
• Counsels students and parents throughout the recruitment, application and enrollment process
• Manage a caseload of graduate and undergraduate students; responsible for all phases of financial aid for students in the caseload including determining eligibility and packaging financial aid; monitoring files for completeness and sending out reminders; completing required verification of federal applications; exercising and documenting use of Professional Judgment; certifying loan eligibility and authorizing release of funds
• Respond in a timely manner to walk-in and telephone inquiries
• Participate in recruitment activities
Qualifications
• Minimum Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree
o Requires excellent skills in customer service and analytical problem solving
o Must be detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Preferred Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree and two years of experience working in a financial aid office or related field
o Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
o Familiarity with various software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
o Knowledge of regulations governing Title IV Financial Aid
o Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, high energy environment
