IT Business Analyst Senior – position 33076
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and two years of information technology experience.
Preferences: The preferred candidate will have recent financial aid and PeopleSoft experience. Financial Aid award packaging experience would be a plus.
Job Description:
Writes packaging equations and packaging plans in PeopleSoft to facilitate mass packaging and repackaging of federal, state, and institutional financial aid award programs.
Designs and runs queries to ensure compliance of financial aid policies. Seeks innovative methods of extracting information from the computer system to uncover potential problems in compliance and anticipates and circumvents future problems.
Establishes and documents packaging routines to ensure accuracy of financial aid award packages and compliance with all regulations and policies.
Runs processes to package and repackage awards on a daily basis.
Schedules and monitors processes used to collect academic activity.
Manages all data requests from external departments. This requires collaboration with the requesting entity to ensure the request is thoroughly documented so the SFA IT staff can effectively pull the correct data. This position also validates the data provided to ensure that the data is an accurate reflection of what was requested.
Supervises file and records management and web development,
Maintains a variety of routine financial aid data statistics to assist with common inquiries and public information.
Keeps abreast of regulatory changes for financial aid as well as technical updates to PeopleSoft. Integrates technical use of PeopleSoft with the functional understanding of financial aid.
Researches business needs and develops functional and system design specifications to monitor and ensure compliance with regulations and program guidelines. Notifies users of any limitations that may impact processing or reporting of data. Responds to changes in financial aid regulations or policy to assure compatibility of computer programs with new requirements.
Assists with testing of system upgrades and patches.
Assists with annual setup routines as well as throughout the ongoing aid year.
Assists with assignment and maintenance of PeopleSoft security for SFA.
Attends workshops, meetings, and training sessions to ensure adequate professional development and to keep abreast of current rules and regulations.
Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Occasional evenings and weekends required.
This is a full time position.
