UCF Coordinator, Student Financial Assistance Position 38448
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.
Preferences: This position is responsible for the coordination of scholarships. Preferred qualifications include excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills. Recent financial aid experience working in a financial aid office is required. The ideal candidate will be multi-task and detail oriented and adapt easily in various situations. Interaction with many different departments and participation in outreach activities will be necessary.
Job Description: Responsible for coordination and supervision of scholarship programs. Manages the processing of Federal, State, Institutional, and Private scholarship recipients. Establishes and monitors scholarship accounts and monitors for over award problems and compliance with regulations. Verifies funds are received before awards are made.
This position/classification may be moved at management’s discretion within the SDES division to a commensurate level position as determined by the Vice President of Student Development and Enrollment Services or his/her designee.Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Responsible for management of the scholarship selection review process and presentation for the UCF Scholarship Committee. Responsible for training committee members to assist in the selection process using the Scholarship A2O System.
Responsible for preparing the Award Sheets for students selected for scholarships by the UCF Scholarship Committee after re-verifying continued eligibility
Responsible for pulling reports and data from the Scholarship A2O system and serves as backup maintenance for the system.
Responsible for maintenance of the UCF Scholars Award.
Responsible for awarding, processing and maintenance of UCF departmental scholarship awards. Serves as key contact for departmental scholarships. Serves on the SGA Scholarship Committee.
Advises and counsels students and parents regarding the financial aid process. Analyzes and evaluates students' financial needs. Advises on availability and sources of financial assistance including Pell Grant, Campus-based aid, Stafford loan, scholarships, and other programs. Interprets to students the policies, the processes, and the regulations pertaining to financial aid and all aid programs. Counseling occurs through personal interviews, by telephone, and e-mail communications.
Assists in presentation of financial aid information to groups of students, parents, high school counselors, and/or the general public in workshop or training sessions.
Attends professional workshops, meetings, and training sessions to assure adequate professional development and keep abreast of current rules and regulations.
Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Annual Salary: $33,750 to Negotiable
This is a full time position.
