Position Responsibilities:
• Provide financial aid counseling through interpreting changes to federal, state, and institutional regulations in financial aid. Translate the effect/impact to students and parents in a manner they can understand.
• Analyze and authorize changes to the need analysis calculation; exercises professional judgement to determine if an adjustment to data affecting aid eligibility is required.
• Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of all aspects of financial aid process, eligibility issues, and possible exceptions for extenuating circumstances.
• Provide individualized counseling services in person, by phone, and virtually to students, prospective students, and parents.
• Anticipate and resolve problems that may delay the disbursement of financial aid funds.
• Point of Contact for the Bull-2-Bull Financial Literacy program on the USF St. Petersburg campus.
• In cooperation with the Tampa campus, coordinate and conduct workshops, seminars and training sessions on financial literacy topics, particularly personal money management, and debt management, repayment options for student loans and money management life skills.
• Provide oversight for student employees who serve as Peer Financial Educators.
