Preferences: The preferred candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of financial aid, specifically the satisfactory academic progress and professional judgement processes, along with recent experience working in a financial aid office. The candidate should have experience with coordinating and/or participating in financial literacy programs. This candidate will require excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent presentation and organizational skills. PeopleSoft experience is a plus.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience with at least 1+ year of leadership experience.
Job Description: This position is responsible for the development and coordination of a comprehensive financial literacy program with major emphasis on debt management and loan default and prevention. In addition, this position supervises the Satisfactory Academic Progress and Professional Judgement program and serves as backup to the Associate Director of Programs. This position/classification may be moved at management’s discretion within the SDES division to a commensurate level position as determined by the Vice President of Student Development and Enrollment Services or his/her designee.
Provides direct oversight of the Satisfactory Academic Progress and Professional Judgment department, which includes supervision and program management. Compile and coordinate data relating to Satisfactory Academic Progress, Professional Judgment, and financial literacy. Establishes and revises business processes as needed to properly manage aid programs.
Coordinate a financial wellness program that includes multiple levels of appropriate financial literacy components for students at all levels.
Provide advice and counsel to students and parents on all aspects of the financial aid process, including but not limited to escalated incidents.
Assist with Financial Aid Outreach both on and off campus pertinent to financial aid and/or financial literacy.
Attend meetings and workshops and maintains appropriate knowledge of federal, state and institutional rules and regulations regarding financial aid.
Write and monitor queries used in the management of financial aid processes and assists in maintaining data integrity and quality analysis. Run and assist in the maintenance of queries associated with the efficient management of all programs processes.
Assist in the coordination and testing of upgrades and modifications to the financial aid.
Serve as backup to the associate director for programs. (P#38881)
Identify and develop processes to ensure compliance with regulations and daily management of all programs.
Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Other appropriate duties as assigned.
Annual Salary: $56,030 – Negotiable
Posting dates: May 21, 2021 eastern daylight time – June 03, 2021 eastern daylight time
Hours: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, some evenings and weekends may be required.
