Position Summary The position counsels students, prospective students, and parents on matters pertaining to Financial Aid. In addition, one must also be familiar with Federal Financial Aid processing requirements. During the absence of the Financial Aid Manager, the Counselor will assist with the supervising of the Financial Aid office and staff.

Required Qualifications The position requires at least a Bachelor’s Degree and at least two years of prior-related higher education financial aid work experience. If applicants do not have a Bachelor’s degree, they must have at least one year of college (30 semester hours) and then may substitute for up to three years of education at the rate of two years of higher education financial aid experience for each year of education. The substituted experience for education time is in addition to the required two years.

(1) experience working with the financial aid portion of the Datatel/Colleague enterprise system,
(2) the ability to work independently,
(3) experience with Return of Title IV calculations, and
(4) experience with Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
